Great Basin Geology Research

So, when the idea coalesced to write a book about the Great Basin for kids, for some reason I thought I could do it in a weekend. After all, I write silly little books for my kids all the time in an hour or two. And I know the Great Basin. I've lived here for over ten years, have read tons of books, and study lots of different aspects of it.

It turns out that I really don't know that much. I've been doing research for weeks now, and I still have a ways to go. But it's fascinating, and I'm so glad I've started this project. I don't think I'll ever totally complete the research.

Here are some really great videos that can teach you the basics of how the Great Basin formed in about ten minutes. Enjoy!

Welcome!

This is a new blog to help me keep myself organized as I work on a new book. Guess what the title is!
Anyway, I'm hoping I will have posts with links to fun places for kids (and kids-at-heart) to visit in the Great Basin.
